Arizona YMCA Camp Life
Camp Kids: Live the Good Life with Y Camps
Remember last summer when you’d tell mom “I’m bored,” and she’d say go out outside and find something to do. It didn’t make much sense; it was 105 degrees out there and getting hotter by the minute. So you’d sit inside playing games on your tablet or phone, or maybe you’d flip on daytime TV and its wasteland of nothingness.
Guess what? It’s going to be 105 degrees again this summer. But you don’t have to be bored. You can have the time of your life at Camp Sky- in the much cooler mountains of Arizona. There’s new experiences, new friends, and fun stuff to do from sunrise to long after sunset, like canoeing, swimming, horseback riding and a whole lot more.
Spend some time browsing through our website and decide what you want to do. Then tell mom she won’t have to nag you this summer. She can send you to the Y’s summer camp!
There’s No Time for Boredom at Summer Camp
Hopefully, you are ready to stay busy, because here at Y Camp there’s no time for boredom, we’ll keep you busy in the greatest of ways. Each day is filled with new adventures and endless opportunities to enjoy your summer!
One of the coolest things about Y Camp is that you get to choose your progressive age appropriate activities each week. At the beginning of each week, you pick out activities that you will participate in over the duration of your camp stay. These activities provide opportunities for campers to try new things in a safe learning environment or continue to do something they love!
Please join us for one of our Open Houses. Take a tour of our camp and meet the camp directors and summer staff. Come see what Y camp is all about.
Saturday, April 8th from 10:00am to 2:00pm
Saturday, May 13th from 10:00am to 2:00pm
Lunch will be provided on both dates and there is no need to RSVP.
You will usually share a cabin with ten or so other kids your age and gender and two staff members. Feel free to make yourself feel at home by decorating your bunk with pictures or posters. Look below to see what the cabins look like!
Three times a day, (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), the entire camp gathers in the dining hall for meals. The food is served “Family” Style and comes out to the table in bowls and on platters. Campers pass the food and conversation around the table facilitating a great sense of community. The biggest benefit is that it gives the campers and staff a chance to talk about what everyone did during the day.
Y Camp has a wide range of activities for whatever you are interested in, and those activities take place all over camp. Whether a camper wants to hike through the cool Ponderosa pines, make a mug at ceramics, climb a 50-ft. climbing-tower or dance there is something for everyone. Each afternoon, campers have free time. At this point, campers can try different activities, visit the camp store, and hang out with friends in several areas around camp.
