After checking in at Camp Sky-Y on Sunday, Adventurers will start packing and preparing for their Monday morning 3-hour road trip to Willow Beach on the Colorado River near the Hoover Dam. Adventurers will then embark on a 3-day kayak and canoe trip through Nevada’s Black Canyon down the river with stops in Sauna Cave, Gold Strike Canyon, Boy Scout Canyon and Emerald Cave. They will make camp along the river and learn how to cook their own meals in the outdoors. After making camp, adventures get the opportunity to hike around the Black Canyon, visit the hot springs and explore the wilderness around them in this beautiful setting.

Wednesday they will depart from Boulder City, NV and make their way back to Camp Sky-Y for the night and get a chance to participate in Sky-Y’s traditional talent night. On Thursday morning, our well rested adventurers will then travel to Watson Lake in Prescott to participate in rock climbing through the granite dells park. Finally, adventures will get to take a backpacking trip in the Bradshaw Mountains, hiking right out of and back into Camp Sky-Y.

Adventurers will be back in camp on Friday evening to be a part of our traditional pinecone dedication where they can reflect and share their favorite experiences with the rest of camp. All gear will be provided for adventures, including backpacks, sleeping bags and tents. Adventurers can follow the same packing list guidelines as traditional summer campers.

Sky-Y is partnering with professional vendors for both the river trip and the Prescott rock climbing experience. All river guides are fully certified with wilderness first aid and river rescue facilitation.

Parents meetings will be held for adventurers in March and April with dates and locations TBD.
